RIVERSPORT OKC is a project of the RIVERSPORT Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation that gives people the opportunity to get more out of life through rowing, paddlesports and outdoor recreation. You’ll find RIVERSPORT downtown in the Boathouse District on the Oklahoma River and on the west side of the city at Lake Overholser.
At RIVERSPORT, we believe enjoying the outdoors is at the center of living a healthy, active lifestyle and have developed RIVERSPORT’s rowing, paddling and recreational experiences to get people out of the ordinary and into experiences that are extraordinary.
We also believe fitness and healthy lifestyles should be at the core of everyday life and encourage people from ages 8 to 80 to find a sport, a passion, a pursuit they can continue for a lifetime.
We play hard. Create opportunities. Take you from ‘can I do this?’ to ‘nailed it!’
RIVERSPORT Lessons & Leagues
Ready to discover your new favorite sport? RIVERSPORT offers rowing, kayaking, surfing and skiing lessons to get you started. Our coached teams start at the novice level and continue through high performance in both rowing and canoe/kayak (whitewater slalom and flatwater sprint). RIVERSPORT corporate leagues are another unique opportunity to get out of the office and into rowing, dragon boating or event whitewater raft racing.
At the highest levels of sport, RIVERSPORT is a US Olympic & Paralympic Training Site and provides elite athlete training facilities and coaching in rowing as well as slalom and sprint canoe/kayak.
RIVERSPORT is committed to providing opportunities for youth who might no otherwise have a chance to participate through our Thrive Outside program and Youth Rowing League. Adult or “masters” athletes in both rowing and canoe/kayak take to the water for recreation or competition with many athletes earning national titles. And you’ll find senior athletes rowing, kayaking and dragon boating, proving that you can stay active for a lifetime!
RIVERSPORT also offers exciting outdoor urban adventures for the whole family with both day passes and season memberships available. Whitewater rafting and Love’s tubing, surfing, adventure courses, zip lines, high speed slides, extreme jumping, climbing walls, pump tracks, recreational flatwater and whitewater kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, a bike park with pump tracks and a mountain bike skills trail, indoor alpine skiing and more are open daily in the summer and on weekends spring and fall. You’ll also find festivals and race events throughout the year and summer camps for kids.
Whenever you buy a RIVERSPORT pass or membership, you’re supporting RIVERSPORT’s nonprofit initiatives. All pass sales benefit community youth and outreach programs and provide coaching, equipment and athletic facilities for Olympic hopefuls training in OKC.
