Masters Dragon Boat Team

The RIVERSPORT OKC Masters Dragon Boat Team is a competitive program designed for experienced paddlers ages 18 and up want to train and race at a high level. The season is 10 months, running from January through October, with practices held twice a week on the Oklahoma River.

The team focuses on building strength, endurance, and technique, preparing for competition against top masters-level teams across the country. In addition to on-water training, paddlers have access to cross-training opportunities and fitness resources to help maximize performance throughout the season.

2025 Race Schedule

The Masters team will travel to several out-of-state competitions representing Oklahoma on a regional level while competing in some of the most exciting dragon boat festivals in the area.

  • May 18 – AAPI Heritage & Dragon Boat Festival | White Rock Lake, Dallas, TX
  • September 6 – Colorado Dragon Boat Festival | Sloan’s Lake Park, Denver, CO
  • September 27 – Kansas City Dragon Boat Festival | Shawnee Mission Park, Shawnee, KS

Each race provides an opportunity to compete against strong teams while fostering teamwork, discipline, and camaraderie among our paddlers.

Membership & Fees

Being part of the RIVERSPORT OKC Masters Dragon Boat Team comes with great benefits, including structured coaching and a comprehensive training environment.

  • $50 per month recurring membership fee
  • Travel expenses for races are not included and will be the responsibility of each paddler
  • Membership includes a RIVERSPORT+ membership, which provides:
    • Unlimited gym access until December 31st
    • Unlimited kayak and stand up paddle board rentals at the Boathouse District and Lake Overholser
    • Guided kayak tours on the Oklahoma River and at Lake Overholser’s Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge
    • Access to RIVERSPORT Adventures, including whitewater rafting, climbing walls, and flatwater activities
    • Special discounts on RIVERSPORT events, camps and programs
