Get Involved in Rowing

Rowing is a great sport for anyone who enjoys being on the water. RIVERSPORT offers rowing lessons, leagues and coached programs for both youth and adults. Rather row just for fun? We offer purely recreational options as well. Come join us!

Lessons

RIVERSPORT rowing lessons give you a chance to try something new – and maybe discover your new favorite sport.

Adults interested in learning more about the sport are invited to take a “Discover” lesson, a two-hour introduction to the sport where you’ll learn some of the basics. If you’re ready to get on the water, sign up for “Learn to Row” lessons, a three-week series of lessons which will get you comfortable on the water.

Youth interested in rowing can either join us for a summer rowing camp or join us at practice to see what the high school and middle school rowing teams are all about.

Adult Rowing Program

Once you’re comfortable on the water, join our adult rowing program and meet other rowers who share your interest in the sport. Some race; others row just for fun. RIVERSPORT also offers adaptive rowing programs for veterans with a service connection and for the visually impaired.

RIVERSPORT Rowing League

The RIVERSPORT Rowing League is recruiting now for the new season! It’s easy to start a team – just grab a bunch of friends or co-workers and let us know you’re interested. Teams practice 11 weeks in the fall season and 12  in the spring, both culminating in championship racing during OG&E NightSprints under the lights. You’ll also get lots of perks as a team member.

Youth Rowing

Youth learn to row as part of our coached programs for both girls and boys. The RIVERSPORT middle school and high school teams include youth from schools across the metro.

Ready to put together a school team? RIVERSPORT’s Scholastic Youth Rowing League offers a way for kids to learn to row as part of a school team.

Adaptive Rowing

RIVERSPORT offers adaptive rowing opportunities for the visually impaired and for veterans. Current teams include the Visually Impaired Adaptive Rowing Project (VIARP) and the Warriors, and are open to eligible participants free of charge. For more information about the RIVERSPORT Adaptive Rowing program and how to join, email us or call us at (405) 552-4040.
