Adventure Birthday FAQs

We’re excited that you’re interested in learning more about our birthday packages!  If we don’t cover all of your questions here, feel free to contact us!

What kinds of parties are available? We have three RIVERSPORT Birthday Packages; Adventure, RIVERSPORT and RIVERSPORT + in the Boathouse District.  Our packages cover all levels of adventure enthusiasts from the mini-adventurers to the ultimate thrill-seekers!

What is the age limit to use the attractions? Most of the attractions use height (and weight) to determine who is permitted on our attractions. Please view our safety guidelines.

How do I schedule a party? Visit our Adventure Birthdays page to see all the options and purchase your party.

Do you rent birthday space? The use of a party space is included in the purchase of any of our birthday packages. A birthday space is available from noon – 2pm or 3pm – 5pm pending availability. Am I allowed to bring in food and a birthday cake for the birthday party? A birthday cake is permitted; however, we can not store it for you.  No other outside food or drinks are permitted.

When is final payment due for the birthday party? All of our birthday packages are prepaid, whether you’re buying online or you’ve placed an order through the Group Sales Office.  All sales are final.

What if I need more day passes?
• In advance; please contact your sales rep in order to add more passes to your existing order. 

• Day of the event; discounted day passes can be added on at Guest Relations, however, the discount won’t be as great as it was when you pre-ordered.  Meal Deals and Parking are only sold in advance.

What paperwork needs to be completed? Once you’ve completed your online order, all participants will need to fill out a waiver; look for the floating link on this page. If participants are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to complete the waiver.

Does everyone who attends the birthday party have to fill out a waiver? Anyone who plans to participate in RIVERSPORT activities must complete a waiver.  If a birthday party guest is a minor (under 18 years of age) the waiver must be completed by a parent or guardian.  Guests attending the party but not participating in the adventures do not need to fill out a waiver.

How can parent/guardians fill out the waiver for their minor child(ren)? Parents may either complete the waiver in advance or at the birthday party check-in. We encourage doing it in advance so you’re not using party time to complete the waivers. Look for the floating Waiver link on this page

Do parents have to pay if they want to go on the attractions with their children? All guests must pay if they wish to use the adventures with or without their children. Chaperones who are not participating in activities are not required to purchase a pass.

When will I get my wristbands? Wristbands will be placed on guests as they arrive and check in. Waivers must be signed before wristbands can be given out.

What do we do once we arrive? Check in at the RIVERSPORT Rapids McClendon Whitewater Center Guest Relations Counter. Guest Services will scan your ticket, check your waiver and provide you with a wristband.

 What should we wear? Wear something comfortable and consider bringing a change of clothes if you’re going to get wet! Please note: We require athletic shoes or secure sandals if you want to go on the Sky Trail, Sky Zip, or whitewater rafting. Flip-flops, crocs, and slides are not permitted. You’ll find more important information here to ensure you have a great RIVERSPORT Adventure!

How long are kayaks and stand up paddle boards available? Flatwater kayaks and stand up paddle boards are usually available up to one hour before closing. On occasion, weather conditions may require us to temporarily suspend or close on-the-water activities.

What happens if it rains during my scheduled party time? In the event weather conditions make it unsafe to hold an on-the-water or outdoor experience at the originally scheduled time, your group may choose to reschedule your experience for another day. Refunds are not offered for weather-related closures.

Windy or inclement weather may make it necessary to temporarily close one or more adventures; we will re-open as soon as the weather clears. We typically close for the day if the forecast includes:

  • Chilly temps– 50 degrees or less
  • High winds – Sustained speeds of 25 mph
  • Heavy rain – 80% chance or higher

Where should I put my valuables? Aside from necessary items such as car keys and wallets, please leave all other valuables at home. We provide one time use ($2) and all day lockers ($10) which can be purchased with any form of payment except cash. Several of our activities require that you have empty pockets, so either plan to leave these items with a friend or in a locker. If you are going out on the water, remember: cell phones and keys don’t float. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
