Red Bull Rapids is a wild whitewater race where showmanship and ingenuity take top prize. In its 11-year history, this marks the first time that Red Bull Rapids has ever taken place in the United States – and it all happened at RIVERSPORT!

Hundreds of rapid seekers from Oklahoma and beyond competed in this group challenge where 50 teams are selected to create their very own man-made vessels to race down a 258-yard whitewater rapids course as a crowd of 5,000 cheered them down the rapids.

Teams consisting of 2-5 people (18 years and older) were scored on the creativity of their vessel, the speed at which they descended, and the distance traveled – some crossed the finish line, others may not. Teams that placed in the top three will be awarded with exclusive Red Bull experiences. The scoring was conducted by a panel of judges, featuring Red Bull athletes, coaches, and Oklahoma’s own Darci Lynne Farmer. Darci Lynne is a native Oklahoman and season 12 winner of America’s Got Talent. She garnered over 90 million views on AGT’s YouTube channel and received the most votes for a final performance in the history of the show.

RIVERSPORT Rapids was built in 2016 and has hosted US Olympic Team Trials for Whitewater Slalom. The course is 305 meters (1,000 feet) long and drops 510 centimeters (16’ 9”) from start to finish. This recirculated water pumped course is estimated to be level WW III-IV at 10 m³/s (350 ft3/s) flows during a competition.
