RIVERSPORT is participating in USRowing’s National Learn to Row initiative by offering free Learn to Row lessons. It’s a great opportunity to see if you’d like to get into the sport of rowing!
Participants will start on ergs – land rowing machines – to learn the basic motion, then move to Oar Boards to get on the water. A new innovation in rowing, these specially-equipped paddle boards offer a stable platform for new rowers to practice the rowing stroke.
Learn to Row Day is free, but registration is required. The event is open to ages 14 and older. Participants should wear comfortable clothes, athletic shoes & socks, and bring a hat, sunglasses, water bottle & sunscreen.
If you’d like to continue with the sport, month-long Learn to Row classes for adults are available all summer; week-long rowing camps are offered for youth wanting to get more time on the water. RIVERSPORT also offers both recreational and competitive rowing programs for youth and adults.
