Planning a summer vacation? Head to RIVERSPORT Adventures in OKC for summer’s “top 5” adventures.
#1 Go Whitewater Rafting and Tubing!
Experience whitewater rafting in the heart of Oklahoma City at RIVERSPORT Rapids! During the summer the water slows down at 6p for a completely different whitewater experience – tube down the rapids for a splashing good time, or check out the river boarding in the Surf Zone. Pro tip: reserve your rafting time in advance to get the most out of your getaway!
#2 Zip Across the Oklahoma River
Fly high on the SandRidge Sky Zip! Start from the top of the 80-foot tall SandRidge Sky Trail and zip 700-feet across the Oklahoma River – and back again. Don’t miss out on the best view of downtown Oklahoma City on the way back! The Sky Zip can be added to your RIVERSPORT or Adventure Pass for just $10, or purchase an Epic Pass and the Sky Zip is included.
#3 Climb to the Top of the 80 ft. Sky Trail
The SandRidge Sky Trail features six levels of challenges that increase in difficulty the higher you climb. Like a playground in the sky, the challenges include rope bridges, balance beams, zig-zag elements and more! Choose your way down once you reach the top of the 80 ft. Sky Trail – soar on the SandRidge Sky Zip, free-fall from the Rumble Drop or whoosh down the High Speed Slides!
#4 Get On the Water in a Kayak
Flatwater kayaking is the best way to get on the water and see Oklahoma City from a whole new perspective. Looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city? Try flatwater kayaking at the Lake Overholser Boathouse, just 25 minutes from downtown Oklahoma City. You’ll soon find yourself in the middle of the Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge, a 1,000 acre preserve and a great opportunity to “get away from it all” without leaving city limits.
#5 Reach for the Sky on a Climbing Wall
Climb on! Choose from two locations for two completely different climbing experiences. The Boathouse District offers a freestanding climbing wall with amazing views of downtown Oklahoma City. If you’re looking to be one with nature, head to the Lake Overholser Boathouse for a 30 ft. climbing wall among the trees and shoreline of Lake Overholser.
