Urban Art Outdoors

Urban Art Outdoors

RIVERSPORT is bringing youth from across the metro together for an outdoor public art experience – and we’re asking for your help to make it happen.

Urban Art Outdoors is a way for youth – for our community – to experience art outdoors as we create a 15,000sf street mural on SE 5th Street adjacent to RIVERSPORT’s urban biking and nature trails.

We’ll buy the paint and supplies, then invite area youth to work together under the supervision of local artists to paint the street mural which will be open to the public year-round.

It’s all part of RIVERSPORT and OKC Thrive Outside’s larger initiative to get more youth engaged in the outdoors through camps, field trips, outdoor play and creative projects such as Urban Art Outdoors. We  – along with our community partners including Boys Scouts, Girl Scouts, the Latino Community Development Agency, Indian Clinic, OKC Parks and Recreation, Bike Club, and the YMCA’s Outdoor Club – are breaking down barriers to make sure that all youth, all in our community, have access to the outdoors.

Our overall fundraising goal is $100k+ for OKC Thrive Outside.  $25K is earmarked to launch Urban Art Outdoors.

We hope we can count on you to make a donation, large or small. Every dollar matters.
