Welcome!
The American Canoe Association (ACA) and RIVERSPORT are pleased to welcome you to the 2022 ICF Canoe Sprint Super Cup, 26.08 to 27.08, in Oklahoma City. This is the second time for us to host this event and we are excited to once again have the event in our city!
The event will be held in the city’s Boathouse District on the Oklahoma River. Conveniently located in downtown OKC, it is within walking distance of the Bricktown District where you’ll find hotels, restaurants and family entertainment.
It’s all held as part of the World Paddlesport Festival, 26.08 to 28.08, which also includes the 2022 ICF Stand Up Paddling World Cup (26.08 to 27.08) and the Red Bull Rapids (27.08) recreational whitewater event. Everyone is also invited to the ICF World Party on Friday, 26.08, 7-9 p.m. in the Whitewater Center and the Red Bull after party following competition on Saturday, 27.08.

Riversport
RIVERSPORT and the Boathouse District are located adjacent to downtown Oklahoma City at the intersection of I35 and I40, the crossroads of the nation. The $100M+ development includes a series of iconic boathouses and four-story finish line tower, a whitewater center, a six-story adventure course, a zip line, surfing and an indoor ski slope. RIVERSPORT is a US Olympic and Paralympic Training Site and hosts national and international rowing and canoe kayak races on the adjacent Oklahoma River – the only permanently lighted race venue in the world.
RIVERSPORT is also located within walking distance of downtown’s Bricktown entertainment district which means great hotels, restaurants and entertainment are just steps away.

TRANSPORTATION TO OKLAHOMA CITY
Located at the crossroads of I-35, I-40 and I-44, Oklahoma City is as easy to reach as it is to navigate. With more than 2,400 miles of four-lane roads, it’s been ranked as the sixth most drivable city in the U.S.

Airport to Hotel Transportation

Taxi Service
Taxis are located in the Transportation Plaza accessed from the baggage claim (lower) level. Average fare from the airport to downtown is $15USD. Uber and Lyft are also available; download the apps to schedule rides.

Public vans are onsite to meet all scheduled flights and transport incoming passengers to their desired destination. Competition Venue

Located in the center of the nation at the intersection of I35 and I40, the Oklahoma River is adjacent to downtown Oklahoma City and within walking distance of the Bricktown entertainment district. It offers both a 2000m sprint course and two 4000m courses, all sheltered by raised banks. It is also the only sanctioned race course in the world to have permanent stadium lights for night racing.
The 100-acre+ Boathouse District sits on the river’s north shore just blocks from downtown OKC and includes a row of iconic boathouses, a world-class whitewater rafting and kayaking center, bike park and an array of land adventures.

World Party & Opening Ceremonies

Sprint athletes, coaches and ICF officials will join SUP athletes and Red Bull Rapids competitors for the World Party and Opening Ceremonies on Friday, 26.08, 7-9 p.m. in the Whitewater Center. Athletes will process with country flags (provided) to open the event which will include drinks, hors d’oeuvres and at the end of the evening – fireworks! Everyone is also invited to the the Red Bull after-party following competition on Saturday, 27.08…details to come.
Training
The Oklahoma River race course will be open for training on Thursday prior to the beginning of competition.

ACCREDITATION
Accreditation passes (credentials) will be required to access the venue and will be available at Registration for registered athletes and coaches. Registration and race information will be headquartered in the RIVERSPORT Whitewater Center.
NIE Waivers for foreign athletes and staff
NIE waivers are no longer being issued and all previously issued ones are invalid.
INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
If an athlete needs an invitation letter, s/he must contact Tamara Adelberg at least 60 days before competition; please include your legal name and passport number. If you are within that window and are still needing assistance, please email as soon as possible.
At this time, any foreign national entering the US is required to provide:
- Passport
- Visa or ESTA
- Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19
- Accepted Covid-19 Vaccinations are found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/proof-of-vaccination.html#covid-vaccines
- Or, proof of exception from the requirement
Covid pre-testing to enter the US has been eliminated as of Sunday, 12.06.22, at 12:01 p.m.
ACA is working on a potential travel waiver for certain categories that do not meet these requirements, but as mentioned above do not have one now.
Visa appointments and processing are extremely delayed due to COVID-related backlogs at US consular posts. We would encourage anyone who needs a visa to apply as soon as possible to get into the system. If they apply and don’t receive an appointment date that works for them, they can go back into the system and apply for an expedited appointment. After that, if they still have not received an appointment date that works for them, please let us know and we will be happy to assist.
HEALTH AND SANITARY MEASURES
RIVERSPORT will be following health and sanitary measures designed to reduce risk of exposure to COVID 19. Detailed information to be provided closer to the event date.
Extra Services
Medical Services
During the event period RIVERSPORT will provide first aid service. Please note that this medical service will cover only emergency cases and that all participants are responsible to arrange, at their cost, their own medical insurance policy.
Spectators
Admission to racing will be free; parking will be $10USD.

PRESS AND MEDIA INFORMATION
To apply for a media accreditation, please contact M. Elizabeth Laurent, elaurent@riversportokc.org and include your full name, telephone number, the name of your media outlet, and your arrival and departure dates. You will receive a confirmation email once your information has been received. All media will be required to follow Covid-19 per event guidelines (to be announced). The event hosts and the ICF have the right to remove the accreditation of any media refusing to follow these guidelines. All applicants requesting accreditation will be added to the ICF’s media mailing list to receive ICF media releases. The Media Area on-site is situated next to the finish line and the officials area.
