Athlete Incentives

Training Site Facilities. The National High Performance Center (NHPC) in Oklahoma City includes training facilities and equipment that are among the best in the world. Headquartered in the Devon Boathouse on the Oklahoma River, this $10 million, 33,000 sq/ft facility houses a fleet of world-class racing shells, and also features the world’s first dynamic rowing tank, an indoor propulsion swim pool, a wide variety of cross training equipment, Wattbikes, RowPerfects and state-of-the-art strength and conditioning equipment.

Residency. The residency program at the National High Performance Center assists senior athletes in their transition from collegiate to elite rowing. As a member of the high performance program, qualified athletes are offered subsidized housing in a recently constructed apartment building five blocks from the Devon Boathouse. Residential athletes have basic medical coverage and injury rehabilitation through our partnership with Mercy Hospital of Oklahoma City.

As a U.S. Olympic Training Site, the NHPC is able to work with Adecco Staffing to help our Olympians and Olympic hopefuls by alleviating career or job-related concerns, which will allow athletes to perform better while training and competing. Other job opportunities through our strong community ties are also available.

Competition Support. Qualifying athletes may also receive additional sponsorship to cover both domestic and international travel for camps and regattas and additional support as needed.
