Rowing is the newest Olympic sport available to high school students in the Oklahoma City area. A pilot program in 2009 established the first season of the OKC RIVERSPORT Youth League with U.S. Grant High School, NW Classen High School and Capitol Hill High School participating.
We are excited to continue this program, offering both fall and spring rowing. The athletes learn to row first on indoor rowing machines and then in racing shells on the water. The seasons are 12 weeks in the fall and 10 weeks in the spring and culminate with a 500m race for the SandRidge Cup on the Oklahoma River! Learn more about the Youth League Championships. [more]
Any Oklahoma City metro area school is welcome to join the OKC RIVERSPORT Youth Rowing League. Financial assistance is available for qualifying schools. To learn more information or to sign up for the Youth League, contact us online or call us at (405) 552-4040 for more information.
