Adventures FAQ, Safety Guidelines

What should I wear?

Dress for outside activity! Shorts, sport pants, secure footwear with a back strap (no flip flops, slides or crocs), and hats are all good choices.  Weather conditions can change without warning, so consider dressing in layers. Don’t forget the sunscreen and if you think you might get wet, an extra set of clothes. Secure shoes are required on the SandRidge Sky Trail, Sky Slide and Rumble Drop.  No flip flops, crocs or slides. Closed toe shoes are required for climbing at Lake Overholser. Safety straps on glasses/sunglasses are recommended. You’ll find more important information here to ensure you have a great RIVERSPORT Adventure!

Where should I put my valuables?

Lockers ($5-10) are available in the McClendon Whitewater Center.  Aside from necessary phone, keys and wallets, please leave all other valuables at home. Several of our activities require that you have empty pockets, so either plan to leave these items with a friend or in a locker. If you are going out on the water, remember: cell phones and keys don’t float. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

What happens in the event of inclement weather?

Windy or inclement weather may make it necessary to temporarily close one or more adventures; we will re-open as soon as the weather clears. We typically close for the day if the forecast includes:

•  Chilly temps50 degrees or less
•  High winds – Sustained speeds of 25 mph
•  Heavy rain – 80% chance or higher

Please call Guest Relations at (405) 552-4040 for current information.

What are the safety and usage guidelines for RIVERSPORT Adventures Attractions?

Your safety is our top priority, so we ask that you follow all safety guidelines. Many attractions have height and weight requirements, and all on the water activities require the participant to wear a PFD (provided) at all times. You’ll find current info here.

What waivers need to be completed?

All participants will need to fill out a waiver. If participants are under the age of 18, a parent or guardian will need to complete the waivers. Save time by signing your waiver online; look for the floating link on this page.
