Trip Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Quito, Ecuador’s capital city. Your guide will drive you to your first stop – Papayacta’s Hot Springs, a naturally occurring mineral hot springs located in the Andes Mountains. After relaxing at the springs, you will continue on to Baeza, Ecuador. Enjoy a welcome dinner with your fellow travelers before you retire at your hotel for the evening.

Day 2

After breakfast, you will choose and load your kayaks & gear before you begin your journey to kayaking paradise – the Quijos Valley. After a short drive to San Francisco de Borja you will outfit your modern kayaks to ensure a comfortable trip. You will then embark on a moderate paddle down a section of the Quijos River to loosen up and get a taste of what is to come. At the end of the day you will enjoy a dinner of local cuisine and trade river tales over some brews.

Day 3

Paddle one of the many Quijos Valley Rivers followed by a tour of nearby Baeza for some local food and sightseeing.

Day 4

The group will travel to Tena, Ecuador’s whitewater capital, for a full day of kayaking down one of Tena’s many rivers.

Day 5

Enjoy another day of mind-blowing kayaking in Tena. After your time on the water, relax in a hammock or practice your salsa moves at the local paddlers bar with a view of the Tena River.

Day 6

Take in one final morning paddle on the Tena River. In the afternoon your group will embark on a jungle tour on the banks of the Napo River – a tributary to the Amazon. Experience animals you’ve never seen before, learn about ancient medicinal plants, and observe the way of life of the indigenous people.

Day 7

Your group will travel to the Piatua River, where lots of boofs will be waiting for you! Once your run is finished your group will drive to Banos, Ecuador.

Day 8

Time for a break from kayaking! Today you will get to choose your own adventure. Pick one half day options: rafting on the Pastaza River, canyoning, or 15 miles of biking. After your adventure, you’ll get to experience the famous Casa del Arbol (Tree House), which features a tree swing with incredible views you can’t get anywhere else. After taking a swing, you’ll relax with cup of coffee or chocolate from Cafe del Cielo. You’ll end the day with a goodbye dinner to reflect on your time spent in Ecuador.

Day 9

Your group will drive from Banos to the Quito airport, where your trip will come to an end. Your time in Ecuador may be over, but the skills you learned and memories you made will last forever!
