RIVERSPORT OKC is a project of the Oklahoma City Boathouse Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit foundation that gives people the opportunity to do more, to be more, than they thought possible. The focus is on fun, fitness and encouraging people to take on new challenges – whether they are totally novice or training as an Olympic hopeful!
We believe fun is at the center of living a healthy, active lifestyle and have developed RIVERSPORT Adventure Parks and programs to get people out of the ordinary and into experiences that are extraordinary.
We also believe fitness and healthy lifestyles should be at the core of everyday life. We encourage people from ages 8 to 80 to find a sport, a passion, a pursuit they can continue for a lifetime.
We play hard. Create opportunities. Take you from ‘can I do this?’ to ‘nailed it!’
RIVERSPORT Adventure Parks
RIVERSPORT Adventure Parks offer exciting outdoor urban adventures for the whole family. Whitewater rafting and Love’s tubing, adventure courses, zip lines, high speed slides, extreme jumping, climbing walls, pump tracks, sailing, flatwater kayaking, stand up paddle boarding and more are open daily in the summer and on weekends spring and fall. You’ll also find festivals and race events throughout the year and summer camps for kids.
Whenever you buy a RIVERSPORT pass, you’re supporting OKCBF’s nonprofit initiatives. All pass sales benefit community youth and outreach programs and provide coaching, equipment and athletic facilities for Olympic hopefuls training in OKC.
You’ll find RIVERSPORT Adventure Parks located downtown in the Boathouse District, on the west side of the city at Lake Overholser, and at Lake Overholser on the city’s north side. Each location offers unique experiences – be sure to visit them all.
RIVERSPORT Programs, Lessons & Leagues
RIVERSPORT offers programs, lessons and coached competitive programs for youth, adults and senior adults. Youth rowing and paddling teams train to compete against teams from across the nation. Outreach programs bring these sports into schools and include a youth league for kids who might not otherwise have an opportunity to participate. Adult or “masters” athletes in both rowing and canoe/kayak take to the water for recreation or competition with many athletes earning national titles. And you’ll find senior athletes rowing, kayaking and dragon boating, proving that you can stay active for a lifetime!
US Olympic and Paralympic Training Site
An official US Olympic & Paralympic Training Site, the OKCBF provides elite athlete training facilities and coaching in both whitewater and flatwater canoe/kayak and rowing.
